For years, Krista Shirley has dedicated her life to understanding how the body moves, heals, and adapts. But her greatest teacher wasn't found in a textbook or a yoga training, it was her own body.
After suffering significant nerve damage to her shoulder, Krista was told she would likely never regain full function. Rather than accepting a lifetime of limitation, she immersed herself in the study of movement, neuroscience, body mechanics, proprioception, and rehabilitation. Through years of research, experimentation, and consistent practice, she restored nearly complete function to her shoulder—something she was once told was impossible.
That journey became the foundation of her work.
Today, Krista is a Level II Authorized Ashtanga Yoga Teacher, Pilates Instructor, Body Mechanics and Proprioception educator, and founder of The Yoga Shala in Maitland, Florida. She has helped hundreds of students improve mobility, reduce pain, rebuild strength, and develop a deeper understanding of how their bodies are designed to move.
Krista believes that lasting change doesn't come from pushing through pain, it comes from learning to work with your body instead of against it. Her teaching blends evidence-based movement principles with years of experience helping people recover from injury, chronic pain, stiffness, and movement dysfunction.
Through her Reclaim Your Body program, Krista shares the same principles that transformed her own recovery. This course is designed to help you reconnect with your body, improve movement quality, build confidence, and create sustainable habits that support long-term healing and resilience.
